Who can benefit from veneers?

veneersAnyone concerned about common aesthetic and functional dental concerns, including:

  • Closing gaps or spaces between teeth
  • Repairing broken or chipped teeth
  • Correcting discoloration on teeth
  • Improving the appearance of crooked or uneven teeth

What are veneers?

Veneers are ultra-thin, translucent shells of porcelain that are permanently bonded to the front of teeth. Thanks to advances in material, today’s veneers, most often crafted of ceramic and sometimes layered with other strengthening materials, look and feel more like natural teeth, even allowing restorations to reflect light just as natural tooth enamel would.

Do veneers affect tooth health?

Our goal is to retain as much of the natural tooth structure as possible, so we use very conservative methods to prepare your teeth for veneers. We also take steps to ensure your bite remains stable and comfortable after the veneers are bonded to your teeth. The dental laboratories and expert ceramists we partner with were chosen for their expert skills and ability to assist us in achieving the very best results for our patients.

How do veneers differ from dental crowns?

Dental crowns are very similar to veneers, but where porcelain veneers just cover the front of the tooth, a dental crown covers the entire tooth, similar to a thimble. Veneers can be used to repair a single tooth or multiple teeth. For teeth that need additional restoration or support, dental crowns may be indicated.
